Abstract

This article provides an in-depth exploration of the impact of ICT on the academic performance of economics students, incorporating an economic perspective alongside the traditional educational approach. The authors examine not only the influence of ICT on academic outcomes but also on students’ career prospects, taking into account multiple factors such as the university environment, the socio-economic context, and students’ personal characteristics. The findings underline the need to rethink evaluation models to better capture the impact of ICT, while promoting complementarity between traditional and digital teaching methods. To ensure the effectiveness of this technological integration, the commitment of teachers is considered essential, supporting the idea that the introduction of these technologies must be accompanied by an innovative and interactive pedagogy.
